An Important Second Meeting
A very deserving charity will receive in excess of $13,000 this evening
St. John’s, NL (October 20th, 2014) – Tonight, 100 Men Who Give A Damn – NL anticipate further extending the great success of their initial meeting, at which they raised $10,400 for Young Adult Cancer Canada in July.
John Atkin’s satisfaction with the outcome of the first meeting was notable: “We are very pleased with how the first meeting unfolded,” said John, “and we have already built on that momentum as our membership is now up to 139 members. This means that we can expect to donate in excess of $13,000 to a very deserving charity tonight.”
Geoff Eaton, Executive Director of Young Adult Cancer Canada will be present at this evenings proceedings, to present feedback on the impact that the first donation had on the organization.
“This second meeting is extremely important for us as we continue to provide a platform for building awareness of the great work that charities are doing in our community while also being able to provide a significant financial boost to the charity that receives the most votes from our membership” explained Sean Stack.
The charities under consideration at tonight’s meeting are:
- St. John’s R.E.A.L. Program, nominated by member Chris Peddigrew;
- Choices for Youth, nominated by member John Duke; and
- Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, nominated by member Robert Miller.
Opening at 7:45pm at the Capital Hotel on Kenmount Road, this evening’s meeting will also include entertainment from local comedian Colin Hollett.
“We’ve shown that we give a damn,” William Cahill affirmed, “and now we’re looking forward to finding out just how big of a difference we can make.”
